Steven H. Biondolillo is the founder and president of Biondolillo Associates. Recognized for coining the term “signature event,” Biondolillo is the nation’s leading developer of branded special-event fundraising programs. Additionally, Biondolillo has developed what is widely regarded to be the nation’s premiere training program in the field of special-event fundraising, and has trained over 13,000 nonprofit staff and volunteers.  Fundraisers developed by Biondolillo have raised more than $1.8 billion.

Biondolillo sparked the national renaissance in walkathons and other peer-to-peer fundraising events. Among the firm’s landmark walkathons are national leaders in the areas of breast cancer and hunger, and among its “signature events” are many national “firsts,” including the first film & video production festival for children, holiday ornament fundraising campaign, CEO-driven academic mentoring and career exploration program, National Baseball Poetry Festival, and service corps focused on the cardiovascular health and wellness of the American public.

Biondolillo Associates has been recognized over the years with numerous awards, including the highest honor in New England in the public relations industry—the New England Publicity Club’s Super Bell, and the highest award in the world in the cleaning and maintenance industry—the Cleaner World Award.

Steven Biondolillo has been a guest lecturer for several colleges and universities, including the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the College of Communication at Boston University, the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, Emerson College, Babson College, Georgetown University, George Washington University, the Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Massachusetts-Boston, the Kellogg-Recanati Graduate Arts Administration Program at Tel Aviv University, and the Harvard Kennedy School New England Alumni Association. Additionally, Steven has appeared on several national television and radio news programs, including NBC’s Today Show, Fox News, The O’Reilly Factor, and NPR.

Steven has served as a member of the board of directors and/or trustees for several nonprofit organizations, including the Massachusetts Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the U.S. Army War College Foundation.  He is currently an advisory board member for the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Steven was an elite amateur wrestler and medalist in national and international competition. He is a former member of the coaching staff of Boston College’s NCAA Division I wrestling program. His op-ed pieces on amateur sports and child welfare have appeared in publications throughout the United States, including The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Atlanta Constitution, Miami Herald, Philadelphia Inquirer, New York Daily News, Boston Herald, Boston Business Journal, Union Leader, and Amateur Wrestling News.  In 2013, Biondolillo was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as an “Outstanding American” from Massachusetts.

Biondolillo recently launched a new division offering seminars and workshops focused on corporate teambuilding, donor outreach readiness for nonprofits, and community building for middle school teachers. This project is the outgrowth of the publication of Steven’s book, Macaroni and Cheese Manifesto.

Steven completed graduate work in English Literature at McGill University in Montreal and language studies at the University of Grenoble in France. He received his BA in English Language & Literature from Boston University, where he was the president of the National Senior Honor Society (Mortar Board) and all-university valedictorian. In 2012, Steven received an appointment to, and became a graduate of the U.S. Army War College’s 58th National Security Seminar.

In recognition of outstanding professional, personal and community leadership and commitment, Steven has been awarded the Boston Jaycees Ten Outstanding Young Leaders Award, Mortar Board’s Alumni Achievement Award, and the Girard College Alumni Association’s Stephen Girard Award.  He has also been inducted into Boston University’s Collegium of Distinguished Alumni.
